This Privacy Statement applies to the collection, processing and use of your personal data (“data processing”) in general and more specifically when using the UTC website (www.utc.nl).

It is important to us that you feel comfortable when using our website or our app and that you do not have to worry about the confidentiality of your data. Privacy protection is essential to us and we think it is very important to give users of our services insight into the processing of their data. For this reason, we would like to explain to you what data UTC collects, for what purpose we do this and how you can exercise control over your own data at any time.

Personal data are specific data about personal or business relationships of a particular or to be determined natural person.

When “UTC” is referred to below, this means Utrechtse Taxi Centrale B.V., but also all parties affiliated with Utrechtse Taxi Centrale B.V. and affiliated cab operators.

UTC only processes personal data necessary to perform the service you have requested. However, we also use such data to further improve our services so that we can further tailor them to your needs and provide you with information that is of interest to you. In addition, UTC stores data necessary to comply with various legal requirements.

To provide you with our services, UTC works closely with various parties, including those who help us maintain and optimize the software, IT infrastructure and IT security.

From whom does UTC collect (personal) data?
UTC collects (personal) data from:

1. Passengers taking cab rides;
2. Representatives of business associates;
3. Website visitors;
4. Employees and job applicants;
5. Affiliated cab operators and their employees.

How does UTC collect personal data from you?
UTC collects personal data from you in the following situations, among others:

1. When you wish to purchase or acquire services from UTC;
2. When you enter into an agreement with UTC;
3. When you contact UTC, such as by e-mail or through a contact form;
5. When you use one or more products, applications and software, from UTC;

Legal basis and purposes of data processing

Agreements with UTC
UTC uses the information you provide to UTC as part of an agreement to perform this agreement with you, in addition, UTC uses the information for personalized product information and to inform you about matters related to this agreement. UTC also uses the personal data provided to improve services, such as reducing call times and making cabs available.
Performing a cab ride through UTC is an example of an agreement.

Contacting UTC
When you contact UTC to order a cab or request UTC for information, UTC processes the personal data provided for this purpose to provide the service or fulfill the information request and/or to answer your questions.

Website visit
General visit data and click behavior are tracked on the website to further optimize the website layout and improve information delivery.

Purposes for using personal data
UTC uses personal data that you have provided to us by phone, website or otherwise, for the following purposes:

(i) To give effect to agreements between you and UTC, the performance of cab rides, possibly through external parties (apps);
(ii) To comply with national and local legal obligations, such as the Passenger Transportation Act, among others, or in some cases the tax retention obligation.
(iii) To analyze and further develop and optimize UTC’s website and services. (iv) For other business purposes, such as data analysis, reporting and auditing;
(v) For security of the website and other products (such as applications and software) and to prevent fraud and misuse of the website and/or these other products (such as applications and software).

Data minimization
At all steps in the data processing process i.e. data collection, including data storage and its use, we strictly adhere to current data protection legislation. UTC processes your personal data only if and to the extent necessary for the aforementioned purposes. We will not use personal data that you share with us for other purposes without consent, and never sell, rent or transfer it to third parties for marketing purposes. Internally, only those departments and employees who need it for the performance of their duties will have access to your personal data.

What are cookies?

Consent
We will not use your personal data for purposes other than those described above, unless you have given your consent to do so or when UTC is required by law to process the data (e.g., to government agencies).

In all cases where you have consented to a particular data processing, you have the right to withdraw that consent. This has no consequences for the past, but does mean that we may no longer process that data. UTC may no longer be able to provide you with certain services as a result.

What are your rights?
Under the European General Data Protection Regulation, you have a number of rights regarding your data and its processing:

Inspection
If you would like to see the personal data that is recorded and processed about you at UTC, you can request inspection at info@utc.nl.

Change
If you want to make changes to the personal data that you have seen as a result of a request for inspection and that you cannot change yourself in your account, you can make a request to UTC. You may request that UTC amend, correct, supplement, delete or block your personal data to the extent that this does not conflict with a legal obligation that UTC must comply with by processing your personal data.

Restrict processing
You also have the right, subject to conditions, to request UTC to restrict the processing of your personal data.

Right to object
If a particular processing operation is carried out on the basis of the “legitimate interest” of UTC or a third party, you have the right to object to that processing.

Data transfer You have the right to obtain your personal data from UTC. UTC will provide it in a structured and common form, which can easily be opened in other common digital systems. This way you can also transfer your data to another provider.

Withdrawing consent
In all cases where the basis for a particular data processing is your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent. This has no consequences for the past, but does mean that we may then no longer process that data. UTC may no longer be able to provide you with certain services as a result.

Response by UTC
A request may be sent info@utc.nl. UTC will fulfill your request as soon as possible and in any case no later than one (1) month after UTC receives such request. If UTC denies your request, we will indicate in our response why the request is denied.

Where can you go with complaints and questions?
If you have any questions about the privacy statement and how UTC uses your data, please email info@utc.nl. Also if you have a complaint about the way the data is processed. In addition, you can always contact the competent national privacy regulator. You can contact the Personal Data Authority for this purpose.

Third Parties
We will not disclose your personal data to third parties without your consent unless:

1. That is necessary in connection with UTC’s performance of its services;
2. UTC is required by law or in an emergency to transfer personal data to government agencies;
3. If there is a reorganization or transfer of business activities at UTC resulting in UTC having to transfer personal data to another organization.
UTC will make proper arrangements with third parties about the security requirements relating to your personal data and record them contractually.

Retention period
